A thousand metres below ground, Viêt and Nam work and make love in an underground coal mine. They hold each other in the quiet darkness as they try to come to terms the entanglements of the individual and collective; the past and future. Against the intimacy of nature, they retrace a country’s history as it reveals itself in the forest, the river, and the sea.

Programming Notes
A day before the closing of the programme, Việt and Nam permeates the screen with ecological and post-colonial grief. The ontological void turns inwards.
